ESSENZA Shigaiha-nuri - la Fenice Gold nib #8 – SOLD OUT

Shigaiha-nuri technique (Rose gold nib #8)
Artist: Tamenuri Studio, only 5 pens available

Shigaiha-nuri is a  version of hakeme-nuri and belongs to wide group of togidashi kawari-nuri techniques. The structure of shibo-urushi (thickened lacquer with egg white, gelatine etc) is created on the pen with a special brush and  comb with Once it hardens subsequent layers of purple transparent urushi and metal powders were added in numerous layer, in this case silver and purple anodised aluminium. Then the surface was sanded and polished to reveal the design, and sealed with isehaya urushi. 
Whole process from priming the ebonite surface to finishing took 5 month. 

Integrated piston produced in the Leonardo workshops. The base material is black Japanese ebonite.

• Piston filler huge capacity 1.5ml
• Possibility of disassembling the piston mechanism with our wrench
• Feed in Japanese red ebonite (produced in our workshops)
• Ink bottle included
